so i am entering a new decade of age in a mere 1 hour and 25 minutes. am i excited about this monumental change? not so much. but someone this weekend thought i was turning the very young age of 22 this weekend and that made me feel better about what will inevitably occur on october 7th.

here are a few of the interesting events that happened in the wonderful year of my birth (1979) you can calculate from that how old i am turning.
The annual Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans, Louisiana is canceled due to a strike called by the New Orleans Police Department.
Mr. Ed, the 'talking horse' featured in the television show of the same name, dies.
Philips demonstrates Compact Disc publicly for the first time.
The Nickelodeon Television Channel, a children's cartoon channel, launches as The Pinwheel Network.
Schoolchildren in the Central African Republic are arrested (and around 100 killed) for protesting against compulsory school uniforms.
The first British nudist beach is established in Brighton.
Two families flee from East Germany by balloon.
McDonald's introduces the Happy Meal.

So here is to 1979 and entering a new decade of age!

i am sitting in the charlotte airport heading to boston to see my mother, brother, and sister-in-law. lucky me! i am so excited to also see the leaves, fall weather, harvard, historical hot spots, and the atlantic!

how quickly i believe things about who God is from experiences with people and from how our fallen world works rather than what God says about Himself in His Word. Lord, i believe, help my unbelief. this seems to be a theme for my life.

i got to wear to wear tights today. glorious. fall is on its way and i love it.

i do love ribbon.

i have been a slack blogger lately. some fun stuff has been going on lately though. yl volunteer leader retreat, staff retreat at sky ranch, jv football games, middle school lunches, hphs pep rally, i mean i love the start of the school year! lots of fun stuff to do with young life and also along with the start of the school year comes autumn. i am so ready for the new season.

along with autumn comes:

the start of ut football and lane kiffins premiere as the coach of the vols. tomorrow 11 oclock. oh how i wish i could be in rocky top.

tights and hopefully more time to play dominoes. two of my favorite things.

now i cant guarantee that the Lord will bring my heart to a place of a new season but i am kind of hoping He will. for the past couple months it has been in a season of a little loneliness, frustration, and discontentment.

so heres to autumn.
