so yesterday i was working out. i was riding the bike when i stumbled upon ben mckenzie, aka ryan atwood from the oc, on a local morning show. at the end of his interview (which by the way, he has grown into a very lovely (looking) young man.) viewers could call in to win 1 of 3 passes to see ben in person at the w hotel that night! as any former oc lover would do, i hopped right off the bike and ran as fast as i could to my car to call. so after many busy signals i finally got a ring! but, no one ever picked up. NEVER!!! needless to say, i did not get to meet ryan atwood and ask him all about working with my crush, adam brody. probably for the best bc i am in no place to move to cali and i am sure that is where things would have headed.
but, i did decide to channel my inner seth cohen today and wear a lacoste short sleeve golf shirt over a long sleeve shirt. he pulls it off much better...

a tale of two thermostats.

my house used to be a duplex. therefore, it has two heating/cooling systems and two thermostats.
one of the heating systems is working wonderfully in the dallas january chill.

one is not so much working. which means i am closed up in my room (watching past seasons of the hills, filling out part time job applications, and having to totally rework the wyldlife schedule...arrrggghh.) good thing the heater man is coming at noon today just in time for the record lows that are supposed to hit north texas starting tomorrow.

(notice the in house temperature is the very lowest it can go.)

this morning i have been listening to a sermon by tim keller about change in a Christian. the part that has struck me the most is when hes talking about anxiety. i struggle with anxiety. it creeps up in my heart frequently and right now it is at the forefront of my life. i am looking for a part time job bc hpyl is in deficit and i am only getting half my paycheck, and i am filled with worry over if i will find a part time job, how long is this going to last, what will i do next year, how do i balance yl and another job, etc. but, this morning i heard this and it is now my prayer that the Lord would give me a humble posture before Him.
"Worry in the Bible is a refusal to obtain a humble posture before God. Anyone who is filled with anxiety is filled with arrogance, bc you think you know how things have to go, you are sure what you need, you are sure how history has to go. And, the peace that is always there is a peace based on humility saying before God you know what I need, you know what has to happen. That's the reason I don't worry."

so i am thinking of doing this to my bathroom walls. it already has a bird theme, i am currently dissatisfied with the decor, and it is probably the only room in my house where i could get away with it, aka my roommates would not be embarrassed to have people over due to the 3d birds on the wall.
