If it were up to me, we would just skip Halloween and head straight on to Thanksgiving and Christmas! I mean, hello, candy is great and all, but turkey, twice baked potatoes, stuffing, peppermint bark, peppermint hot chocolate, and gingerbread takes the cake! I might have even started listening to Christmas music this weekend. So, here are some new faves to listen to in the upcoming season...
And, because I hate to be a complete Halloween hater here is the Girls Team winning pumpkin from the UCLA RUF Pumpkin Carving Contest...
My new favorite blog is Prepfection. It fully embodies my clothing and interior style and add in the fact that I like deer heads, fall, monograms, and boats and this blog is all my favorites in one place. I think I would have loved living in the preppy 80's (think the earliest scenes in When Harry Met Sally) as a young adult, therefore I love that this tumblr has both old and more current photos. Here are some pictures to make it your new favorite blog too...
And, in case those photos didn't convince you to take a look, maybe these will...
I don't even know of anywhere near Los Angeles to pick apples (and find cute boys that do too). So again, why do I live in a city of boys that wear skinny jeans and surfer shirts and have never heard of Vineyard Vines or L.L. Bean?
What do you think of when you think of beets? The first things that come to my mind are Dwight Schrute and Doug Funnie. But, yesterday I was peeling some beets and realized they are beautiful. The colors are rich and they have a woodgrain look to them or stripes, making them beautiful, unique, and delicious too.
I really love the way this room turned out, and, for the most part, didn't have to buy much when I moved in the house. The bed and dressers were given to me when I was a baby by my great uncle, so have been my bedroom furniture all my life. Both the white bedside cabinet and white chair at the dressing table are from the Ikea clearance section. (Even though the cabinet did have to be taken apart just to fit in the car it was definitely worth it for only $30.) The brown curtains were on sale at Ikea for $10 for 2 panels. The bedding my very generous mom bought for me on sale at Anthro. And, all of the accessories, lighting, and most of the wall art are just pieces I have picked up over the years. I love that most of the things in my room have been repurposed or tell a story of sometime or someone in my life.
because I picked up 2 of these great Jonathan Adler hanging lanterns (1 for free and 1 25% off) at Swoozie's last weekend in North Carolina with my mom.
