Since moving to Los Angeles my dream of home ownership has definitely shifted. Growing up the dream was to live in a nice traditional home in the nicest part of town with big trees and sidewalks. Then, as I got older, realized the type of job one must have to own that type of home my dream changed to simply owning a home that isn't a shack in a decent neighborhood and became willing to forgo the sidewalk requirement. And, now living in L.A. my dream has become to one day own one side of a duplex. Yes, folks, a duplex, that is the dream. People laugh when I tell them that but, I say it with 100% seriousness. If you have ever lived in Southern California (or NYC, or Portland, or San Francisco, etc.) you would totally understand.

Sitting on the Front Porch Drinking Ice Cold Cherry Coke.
Spring = porch sitting, so I have had exteriors like this on the brain lately...

The Great Divide.
Listen up if you are married or single! This is one of the best articles I have ever read on Singleness and on Marriage, and it just happens to be by one of the pastors at my church.

All its Birds and All its Blossoms.
Winter was the hardest season for me here in LA. A lot of times my life felt like winter during January and February. Darker, cooped up, lonelier, colder, grey, but seeing buds of flowers on warmer days. Now it is spring! Hallelujah, praise the Lord! Glory glory! Plants are growing, snow is melting, and beaches are filling up with people! I think God must have designed most places in the world to have seasons, so that people would understand the seasons of their hearts better. After winter there usually comes a spring, and after a fall there will most likely be a winter at some point, even if it is just a cold snap. What a beautiful thing!
"Came the spring, with all its splendor, all its birds and all its blossoms,
all its flowers and leaves and grasses."
-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Dipped in Paint.
Dipped wooden utensils have been popping up all over Pinterest. As you can see they make an ordinary everyday item something a little more unique...
Well, last week when my mom and grandmother were in town we went to Ikea and I picked up set of 3 wooden kitchen utensils for only 99 cents! And, this morning I was feeling particularly crafty, so decided to fancy up my Ikea buy. Here is the before, during, and after...
Now I want to find more wooden utensils and try using a stain and mix in some bright colors! Oh, and have you seen people dipping furniture in paint. Looove it!

He has Risen!
"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen." -Luke 24:5
