Gingham.

My most recent obsession has been gingham.

In fact, I wore this today.

And, I never really thought of using gingham in home decor until I saw these lovely interiors.

Now I am on the hunt for gingham sheets for my bed.

Pick Up Lines.

Aren't these the prettiest pick up lines you have ever seen?

They almost seem o.k. when presented like this. Almost.  Kate Spade has this one and other really precious (and sometimes humorous) e-valentines for you to send to the ones you looooove for Valentine's Day. Go love! 

Glee > Super Bowl.

I must admit, I am more excited about the new episode of Glee than the Super Bowl. Thriller, yes please! 

Especially after seeing this guy (and his mohawk) in person Friday night...

Another Snow Day.

This morning I woke up to this outside my window...

And, since I am an early riser I was cleaning out my closet of summer clothes before 8 a.m. That sounds so fancy, "my closet of summer clothes".  It is not that I have so many clothes that I have a summer and winter closet. It's simply that the closet in my bedroom is less than 36" wide. (To give you a frame of reference, the average door opening is 36").  In any case, I was left dreaming of the days of this...

And, I just booked a trip to Charlottesville, VA the last week of March where the trees should be perfectly in bloom. 

Windows Down

Dresses, and not having to wear tights and cardigan too. 

And, anything else you can think of outdoors. 

I typically jump the gun on the seasons, doing things like wearing boots when it is October but still 87 degrees outside and sitting on the patio for happy hour before spring break. But, as much as I am longing for warmer weather and blooming flowers, I would love for this season of my life to stand still for awhile. Some days I am just not ready for the seasons to change and all that comes with it. 

Well, I am off to nap on this snowy afternoon because I am volunteering at the Black Eyed Peas' Super Bowl party tonight until the early morn. Pray I see Fergie's hubby, Josh Duhamel. Tad Hamilton is such a hottie. 

Could-Have-Been Love Story.

I love this but, can't decide if I love or hate the delete key. What about you? Love or hate?

Art Intern.

A few months ago I had the opportunity to be the Art Intern on the PBS film, "Greely". Well, this past Monday it aired! It was so cool to see all of the projects I had worked on show up on television. Back in the fall when I interned it really solidified that I definitely want to work in the Art Department of film and television. And, it played a part in my feeling like yes, God is calling me to move to Los Angeles this summer. It feels so weird to write that! Through research and talking to people I had learned that working in the Art Department/Set Decorating you get to mix art, history, psychology, and interior design and I definitely saw that play out and loved it!

Monday night as I was watching the show I was reminded that the Lord is for me. It is so easy for me to compare my life to other peoples' around me, only see where my life isn't where I thought it would be at my age, and wonder what in the world God is thinking when it comes to where He is taking my life. But, Monday all of those thoughts were wiped away, because God reminded of this is where He has my life, and boy is it good. Boy, is He good.

And, it was kind of fun to see my name in the credits too...

Red Velvet.

Last night I had one of these delicious treats for the first time (sans cheesecake):

And today it has left me with a craving for these red velvet delicacies:

 Cake Balls,

 Parfaits,

and, of course, double layer cake. 

I think red velvet Yogurtland with cookie dough bits will do just the trick this afternoon.

Shadows at the Arboretum.

This past Saturday my friend Caroline and I went to the Arboretum. She had to take pictures for class, so it was the perfect opportunity for us to hangout and put my camera to good use. Well, the Dallas Arboretum was a little out of our price range, especially on a chilly January day (on a warm April day, probably worth the $12 admission fee, plus $7 for parking). Being the "make it work" girls that we are, we took pictures right outside the entrance. For some reason, I loved the shapes of all of the shadows cast by the tree limbs and potted plants.

DIY Bowtie.

A boy in a bowtie makes me swoon. 

And a boy in a gingham bowtie makes me double swoon.

 One day when I have a boy to make me swoon, I will make him these. 

And, I will wear my gingham shirt with my monogram on it and make him swoon. 

Hopefully double swoon.
